Dr Gyanendra D Bandgaiyan appointed DG of National Centre for Good Governance

The Appointments Committee of the Cabinet (ACC) has approved the appointment of Dr. Gyanendra D. Bandgaiyan, former Chief Economist, United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), as Director General, National Centre for Good Governance under the Department of Personnel & Training. The appointment was for a period of three years which is extendable by another two years or upto 60 years of age, whichever is earlier.

About National Centre for Good Governance

  • It is an autonomous institution under the administrative control of the Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT).
  • It is the apex think tank in the country that guides and helps implement good governance reforms through research, policy analysis, advocacy and capacity building.
  • It was inaugurated on 24 February 2014 by upgrading National Institute of Administrative Research (NIAR), Mussorrie.
