- First Impression is the last impression so it is necessary to be as much as positive through a smart, pleasant appearance. It is important to be well groomed.
- Softly knock the door (Even if the door is open).
- Open the door very softly take permission of the board for entry – Sir, may I come in please.
- Softly close the door and wish the board with gentle standing posture.
- If there is any female member wish her first.
- Wait till the board asks you to sit and say thanks before sitting.
- Maintain eye contact with the board.
- Give your answer confidently.
- Always be sensitive, be honest and be you natural self.
- When you are unable to answer any question admit it that you don’t know the answer or say – Sorry Sir, I don’t know.
- Always pay full respect to the board.
- Before leaving the room, thank the board members gracefully.
Don’ts
- Don’t bang the door.
- Don’t make excuses.
- Don’t make negative comments about previous employers or others.
- Don’t treat the interview casually.
- Don’t slouch and don’t sit rigidly on the edge of your chair.
- Always address the female member as “Mam”.
- Don’t chew gum or smoke before the interview.
- Don’t sit until the board asks to do so.
- Never ask questions to the board.
- Don’t try to defend yourself in wrong answers.
- Never put your file or hand on the table.
- Don’t make noise while sitting and leaving the chair.
