Shri Narendra Modi flagged off the Digital India initiative. Digital initiatives aims to make all citizens digitally literate and bring internet and e-governance to the houses of all the Indians. The Prime Minister has promised that Digital India has an investments worth Rs 4.5 lakh crore and will provide Rs. 18 lakh jobs.
“I dream of a DigitalIndia where 1.2 billion connected Indians drive innovation. I dream of a Digital India where the world looks to India for the next innovation. I dream of a Digital India where ICT enabled citizen-government interface is incorruptible,” Narendra Modi said.
Aim of Digital Initiatives:
- The vision of Digital India programme also aims at inclusive growth in areas of electronic services, products, manufacturing and job opportunities etc.

National Scholarship Portal will offer all details and performing all key procedures from a single platform. Government is also launching an app that will make it possible for citizens to take appointments and pay fees for government hospitals using their smartphones. Similarly, Indian citizens can now connect their phone number with their Aadhaar authentication number for streamlined data verification.
