Delhi CM launches live interactive programme TalkToAK

Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal has launched a live interactive programme, titled ‘TalkToAK’, aimed at directly engaging with the Delhi people , where people from across the country can ask him questions over the phone, by sending text messages and through social media.

The move, intended to reach out to people across the country, comes at a time when his Aam Aadmi Party is gearing up for Assembly elections in a number of states including Goa, Punjab and Gujarat.

  • The government has launched a dedicated website – ‘talktoak.com’ – through which people can ask questions directly. They can also ask questions by dialing 011-23392999. If ‘Talk to AK’ gets good response from people it will be held every month, an official said.
  • The first programme went on for nearly two hours, in which the Chief Minister answered a wide variety of questions based on education, youth and city administration.
  • During the programme TalkToAK, on education, Mr Kejriwal stated that his government has planned 100 new schools, which would be better than private schools and speaking about the youth, the CM exhorted them to participate in politics on a large scale.
  • Mr Kejriwal stated that his government has managed to save over Rs. 350 crore in construction of five flyovers in the national capital since his party came to power in February, last year.
