10. France Bans iPhone 12 Sales Over Radiation Concerns

France’s radiation watchdog, the Agence Nationale des Frequences (ANFR), has prohibited the sale of Apple’s iPhone 12 due to tests revealing that the smartphone exceeded European radiation exposure limits.

The Specific Absorption Rate (SAR) of the iPhone 12 was found to be higher than legally allowed. France’s junior minister for the digital economy, Jean-Noel Barrot, suggested that a software update could potentially resolve the issue.

However, if Apple does not address the problem, ANFR may order a recall of the device in France. Apple disputes ANFR’s findings, citing certification from international bodies that the iPhone 12 complies with global radiation standards.
