1. Legendary Indian spinner Bishan Singh Bedi passes away at 77

Legendary spin maestro and former Indian cricket captain, Bishan Singh Bedi, sadly passed away on Monday at the age of 77 after a prolonged illness.

Bedi stands as an iconic and revered figure in the world of cricket.

Born on September 25, 1946, in Amritsar, Bedi is celebrated for his extraordinary skills in slow left-arm orthodox bowling.

Bedi, alongside the likes of Erapalli Prasanna, BS Chandrasekhar, and S. Venkataraghavan, played a pivotal role in ushering in a revolution in Indian spin bowling history.

He left an unforgettable mark on Indian cricket, leading the team to their first-ever ODI victory on June 13, 1974, against East Africa in the Prudential World Cup.
