1. Hardik Singh and Savita win the Hockey India Balbir Singh Sr. Award for Player of the Year 2022
The much-awaited Hockey India 5th Annual Awards 2022 took place in the capital city on Friday which saw the National Federation celebrate India’s best hockey stars, officials and former greats of the sport.
On a memorable afternoon where some of the legends of hockey made their presence known, Gurbux Singh won the prestigious Hockey India Major Dhyan Chand Lifetime Achievement Award 2022, while Hardik Singh and Savita won the Hockey India Balbir Singh Sr.
Award for Player of The Year 2022 awards in Men and Women categories, respectively. This year, at the Hockey India 5th Annual Awards 2022, the total prize money was in excess of INR 2.7 Crore.
2. National Vaccination Day is observed on March 16

3. RBI’s Shaktikanta Das conferred ‘Governor of the Year Award 2023’
In the Central Banking Awards that were held recently, Shaktikanta Das has been honoured with the “Governor of the Year” 2023 Award. He is currently serving in the Reserve Bank of India as the 25th-term governor at present.
Previously, he was a member of the 15th Finance Commission and also India’s Sherpa at the G20 Summit. The Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi is delighted over his victorious event and further tweeted that it is a massive pride for the whole country.
He applauded the governor on this occasion. The former governor Raghuram Rajan was the first Indian to hold the prestigious title in the year 2015.

Delhi’s IGI Airport Declared the Best in South Asia
The Indira Gandhi International Airport (IGIA) in Delhi has been named the best airport in South Asia by the UK-based consultancy, Skytrax. In addition, it has also received the award for the cleanest airport in India for the third consecutive year.
5. Who is K. Krithivasan? The New CEO of TCS, long-lived Head Rajesh Gopinathan Opts for Step Down
The Indian Multinational IT Company, Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) announced the shift in CEO position as the longest-serving head Rajesh Gopinathan decided to resign. Moreover, K. Krithivasan has been appointed as the new Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of TCS.
Rajesh was a notable Managing Director (MD) and CEO in the last six years. Along with him, Ratan Tata’s right hand Natarajan Chandrasekaran was promoted to Chairman of Tata Sons.

6. World Sleep Day 2023 Observed on March 17th
World Sleep Day is an annual event observed on the Friday before the Spring Vernal Equinox to raise awareness about the significance of sleep. This year, it falls on March 17, 2023.
The day aims to reduce the burden of sleep disorders on society by promoting better prevention and management. The World Sleep Committee of the World Sleep Society, founded by World Association of Sleep Medicine (WASM) and World Sleep Federation (WSF), organizes this day.

7. Viacom18 announces former captain MS Dhoni as their brand ambassador
Viacom18 has appointed MS Dhoni as its brand ambassador to promote digital sports viewing. Dhoni will collaborate with Viacom18 to encourage fans to watch their favorite sports on digital platforms.

9. Narender Singh Tomar inaugurates “AgriUnifest” in Bengaluru
Union Minister of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare Narendra Singh Tomar on 15 March 2023, inaugurated “AgriUnifest” in Bengaluru, Karnataka.
It is a 5-day cultural program, organized by Bangalore Agricultural University in collaboration with the Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR). More than 2500 students from 60 State Universities/Central Universities have participated.
10. Canara Bank introduces Rupay Credit Card on UPI
To leverage the reach of UPI and the strength of credit card products, Canara Bank in collaboration with National Payments Corporation of India (NPCI) launched the Rupay Credit Card through UPI using the BHIM app.
How to link Your Credit Card to UPI:
The procedure for linking the credit card is similar to the existing account linking procedure, and customers should select Canara Credit Card during account listing for linking. The transaction limits applicable for UPI transactions shall continue for UPI payments using Rupay Credit Card.
