1. JAPAN INDIA MARITIME EXERCISE 2023 (JIMEX 23)
The seventh edition of the bilateral Japan-India Maritime Exercise 2023 (JIMEX 23) hosted by the Indian Navy, is being conducted at/ off Visakhapatnam from 05 -10 July 2023. This edition marks the 11th anniversary of JIMEX, since its inception in 2012.
Japan Maritime Self Defence Force (JMSDF) units under the command of RAdm Nishiyama Takahiro, Commander Escort Flotilla One, and Indian Naval ships under the command of RAdm Gurcharan Singh, Flag Officer Commanding Eastern Fleet are participating in the exercise.

4. SAFF Championship 2023: India wins record ninth title
A glorious night in Indian football history unfolded on a terrific Tuesday at the Sree Kanteerava Stadium in Bengaluru, as the Blue Tigers defeated Kuwait 5-4 on penalties, to claim the Bangabandhu SAFF Championship 2023 title in Bengaluru.
In the summit clash of what was the biggest and most competitive SAFF Championship ever, Gurpreet Singh Sandhu’s winning save etched India’s ninth sub-continental title, adding another chapter to the nation’s regional supremacy.
The game ended 1-1 after 120 minutes; Shabaib Al-Khaldi had put Kuwait in front early on, and newly-crowned AIFF Player of the Year Lallianzuala Chhangte equalized later in the first half.
5. State Bank of India celebrates 68th Bank Day
State Bank of India celebrated its 68th Bank Day on 01st July 2023. The Bank was incorporated by an Act of Parliament on 01.07.1955. The day was celebrated throughout the country by organizing various programs at different centers.
At Chandigarh, Bank Day was celebrated by organizing a Circle Level Staff Cultural program and a get-together of local dignitaries, customers, staff, and their families at Tagore Theatre, Sector-18, Chandigarh. Sh. As the Chief Guest, Vinod Jaiswal, Chief General Manager, Chandigarh Circle, graced the occasion.
6. SBI appoints Kameswar Rao Kodavanti as CFO
State Bank of India, the largest lender in the country, has recently announced the appointment of Kameshwar Rao Kodavanti as its Chief Financial Officer as Charanjit Surinder Singh Attra, the former CFO, resigned from the post.
Kodavanti, who has been associated with SBI since 1991, brings a wealth of experience in banking, forex, finance, and accounting to his new role.

7. India’s first ‘Police Drone Unit’ launched in Chennai
The Greater Chennai City Police (GCP) has launched the ‘Police Drone Unit’ for aerial surveillance over vast areas and quick detection of criminal activities.
The project, which costs approximately Rs 3.6 crore according to a press release by the GCP, was inaugurated by outgoing Tamil Nadu Director General of Police (DGP) C Sylendra Babu, in the presence of Chennai Police Commissioner Shankar Jaiswal at Besant Avenue, Adyar.
