1. Mayank Vaid becomes first Indian to complete Enduroman triathlon
Mayank Vaid becomes the first Indian to complete the Enduroman. It is a triathlon from England to France which is considered to be one of the toughest endurance competitions in the world. He is the 44th person in the world to have completed this triathlon. He is also the first Asian person to complete this triathlon in solo capacity.
2. India to run special training programme for Maldivian civil servants
India will conduct a two-week special training programme for Maldivian civil servants in Delhi and Mussoorie. The training is part of a bilateral MoU on Training and Capacity Building Programme between the National Centre for Good Governance (NCGG) and the Maldives Civil Service Commission (CSC),
3. TN officials to learn highway safety skills from Australia
The Tamil Nadu government has sent a group of senior administrators to Australia for highway safety using Safe System Solution and to emulate the best practice procedures with a workshop.it will start on 16th Sept 2019 in Melbourne.
4. Spain wins 2nd FIBA basketball World Cup title
Spain captured its second FIBA basketball World Cup title after defeating Argentina with 95-75 in the gold medal game held at Wukesong Arena in Beijing, China. The Spaniards won their 1st basketball World Cup title in 2006 in Japan.
5. Pune’s iconic Jayakar Bungalow restored
The renovated Jayakar Bungalow, a classic heritage site situated inside the premises of National Film Archives of India (NFAI) in Pune, Maharashtra was inaugurated by Prakash Javadekar, Union Minister for Information and Broadcasting.
6. Special Training Programme for Maldivian Civil Servants to be conducted in India
Special Training Programme for Maldivian Civil Servants is scheduled to be conducted at the hill town Mussoorie (Uttarkhand) and New Delhi from 16 to 28 September 2019. A 32-member Maldivian delegation arrived in India for taking part in Special Training Programme.
7. IBSF World Billiards Championship: India’s Pankaj Advani wins title
The Bengaluru-based cueist Pankaj Advani increased his tally of world titles to 22 by winning a 4th straight final in the 150-up format at IBSF World Billiards Championship 2019 held in Mandalay, Myanmar. Pankaj Advani defeated Nay Thway Oo of Myanmar.
8. World Ozone Day observed on September 16
September 16 was designated by the United Nations General Assembly as the International Day for the Preservation of the Ozone Layer. This designation had been made on December 19, 2000, in commemoration of the date, in 1987, on which nations signed the Montreal Protocol on Substances that Deplete the Ozone Layer.

India’s Sourabh Verma registered a thrilling three-game win over China’s Sun Fei Xiang to claim the men’s singles title at the USD 75,000 Vietnam Open BWF Tour Super 100 badminton tournament.
10. World Bank to sanction Rs 3,000 cr for food parks: Govt
The World Bank will provide Rs 3,000 crore funds to finance mini and mega food parks across the country, particularly in Northeast, and help boost farmers’ income, Union Minister Rameswar Teli said. Minor formalities remain to be completed on this front before the first disbursement of the sanctioned amount is released, the Minister of State for Food Processing Industries said.
11. Traditional Neermahal Jal Utsav concludes in Tripura
In Tripura, the three day long traditional Neermahal Jal Utsav concluded with eye catching boat race and swimming competitions at Rudrasagar lake.
Chief Minister Biplab Kumar Deb flagged off the boat race. Speaking on the occasion, Mr.Deb said, his government has taken initiative to renovate Neermahal so as to get back the aura of its golden era.
12.India’s Kaushal Dharmamer wins Myanmar International Series
Indian shuttler Kaushal Dharmamer clinched the Myanmar International Series title with a come-from-behind win over Indonesia’s Karono Karono in a thrilling men’s singles final.
The 23-year-old from Mumbai, who had won the Hatzor International in October last year, recovered after dropping the opening game to outwit Karono 18-21, 21-14, 21-11 in a match that lasted an hour.
