- Utpal Kumar Singh Takes Charge as Uttarakhand Chief Secretary
Senior IAS officer Utpal Kumar Singh assumed charge as the new chief secretary of Uttarakhand replacing S Ramaswamy.
A 1986 batch IAS officer, Singh was earlier posted on deputation in New Delhi as additional secretary in the ministry of agriculture.
He was relieved from his responsibilities at the Centre before completion of his deputation term following a request from the state government.

A runachal Pradesh Chief Minister Pema Khandu has declared open the fifth edition of Tawang festival.
The chief minister inaugurated the four-day festival in the presence of North Eastern Council (NEC) secretary Ram Muivah, RWD parliamentary secretary Jambey Tashi, Tawang MLA Tsering Tashi and Tourism secretary Dr Joram Beda.
Earlier the chief minister inaugurated the exhibition stalls where products and materials from various government departments, NGOs and local community bodies were showcased. The stalls have products from horticulture, agriculture, forest and textile departments.

If the users are doing an online transaction of money after selecting IMPS option, then they will have to pay 80 pct less charge than what they used to pay earlier.

From India, puppeteers like Ravi Bhat of Kath Putli (Jaipur), Saravana Dhanapal of Giant Puppet (Bengaluru), Sudip Gupta of Dolls Theater (Kolkata), Jitendra Advani of Masti Maker Human Puppet (Jaipur) Edwin Lee of Dragon Act and Lion Dance (Chinese puppetry Kolkata) are among the participants.

China has unveiled a track-less train that runs on virtual rails in a bid to speed up public transportation in major cities.
The new trains were announced on June 2 in Zhuzhou, China’s Hunan province and are said to be non-polluting.

16. Petroleum ministry launches Rs 320 crore startup fund for entrepreneurs
In a novel initiative by the petroleum ministry, 10 oil and gas companies under it launched a startup programme for entrepreneurs with a fund corpus of Rs 320 crore to be disbursed over a 3-year period to support innovations in the energy sector.
The scheme was launched here with memoranda of understanding (MoU) being signed by 36 startups for partnering with various state-run firms like Indian Oil, Hindustan Petroleum and GAIL India, which is India’s largest gas transmission utility.
