1. October 10: World Mental Health Day
Every year, the World Mental Health Day is celebrated on October 10. The day was first initiated by World Federation for Mental Health. The day is marked by several International organisations spread all over the world. In some countries like Australia, the day is a part of Mental Health Week.

3. Goa: First State to provide 100% Tap Water Connections
The Ministry of Jal Shakti announced that Goa has become the first state in India to provide 100% tap water connections in rural areas. Around 2.3 lakh households were covered in the state.
4. Jagananna Vidya Kanuka Scheme launched in Andhra Pradesh
The Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy has launched Jagan Anna Vidya kanuka scheme. The state government has allocated Rs 650 crores for the scheme. Under the scheme the state government will provide school kits to 43.32 to lakh government school students.
5. Mukhya Mantri Saur Swarojgar Yojana launched in Uttarakhand
The Uttarakhand Chief Minister Trivendra Singh Rawat recently launched Mukhyamantri Saur Swarojgar Yojana in Dehradun. The scheme promotes self-employment of the youth. It also promotes production of green energy.
6. Indigenously developed RUSTOM II Drone Test Fire Successful
The Defence Research Development Organisation tested Rustom 2 drone successfully. The Drone is capable of carrying payloads depending on the mission objectives. This includes aperture radar, situational awareness systems and electronic intelligent systems.
7. Piyush Goyal gets additional charge of Ministry of Consumer Affairs
The Union Minister Piyush Goyal has been assigned the additional charge of Ministry of Consumer Affairs, Food and Public Distribution in addition to his existing portfolios, following the death of union minister Ram Vilas Paswan. Goyal is currently serving as the Union Minister of Railways and Minister of Commerce and Industry.
8. National Postal Day is celebrated on 10 October
In India, the National Postal Day is celebrated annually on 10 October, as an extension of World Post Day, which is celebrated on 9 October. The Day aims to commemorate the role played by the Indian postal department for the past 150 years, which was founded in 1854 by Lord Dalhousie.

9. First woman chief justice of Kerala KK Usha passes away
Former Chief Justice of the Kerala High Court, Justice KK Usha, passed away. She served as a judge from 1991 to 2000. And when she was appointed Chief Justice of the Kerala High Court from 2000 to 2001, Justice Usha became the first woman to join the High Court Judiciary from the Bar and became a Chief Justice.
10. Mukesh Ambani tops the Forbes India Rich List 2020
The Reliance Industries Limited (RIL) Chairman Mukesh Ambani, has topped the Forbes India Rich list for 2020. He has retained his position as the wealthiest Indian for the 13th consecutive year on Forbes India list. The tycoon added $37.3 billion to his net worth, to bring his total fortune to $88.7 billion, a rise of 73% over the previous year.

The second spot has been retained by Adani Group Chairman Gautam Adani, with a net worth of $25.2 billion. Tech tycoon Shiv Nadar acquired the third spot with a net worth of $20.4 billion.
