- Anil Dave, Chandra Bhushan Felicitated With ‘Ozone Award’
Four Indians including former environment minister Anil Madhav Dave, deputy director of Centre for Science and Environment (CSE) Chandra Bhushan, IIT Delhi Prof R S Agarwal were felicitated with ozone awards by the United Nations Environment Programme.
Apart from these three, another Indian Atul Bagai, who works with the UNEP, was also awarded ‘Ozone Award’. He was honoured in the category of ‘Policy and Implementation Leadership’.

- Golden Temple awarded ‘most visited place of world’ by WBR
The Golden Temple has been awarded the ‘most visited place of the world’ by ‘World Book of Records’ (WBR), a London-based organisation that catalogues and verifies world records.
General secretary of India chapter, Surbhi Kaul, and president of Punjab chapter, Randeep Singh Kohli, gave this award to SGPC chief secretary Roop Singh and other senior officials at Teja Singh Samundari Hall.

- Lionel Messi wins fourth European Golden Shoe award
Barcelona superstar Lionel Messi has picked up his fourth European Golden Shoe, thus equalling his great rival Cristiano Ronaldo as the award’s record-holder.
The 30-year-old Argentine scored 37 goals in La Liga, and beat Dutch striker Bas Dost, who netted 34 for Sporting Lisbon in the Portuguese league. He had previously won the award for Europe’s top scorer in 2010 (34), 2012 (50) and 2013 (46).

- President of India Inaugurates International Gita Mahotsava-2017
The President of India Ram Nath Kovind, inaugurated the International Gita Mahotsava-2017 on November 25, 2017 in Kurukshetra, Haryana.
Earlier in the day, the President visited Brahma Sarovar and laid the foundation stone of the Gita Research Centre at the Gita Gyan Sansthanam in Kurukshetra.

- India, Finland to boost in IT, renewable energy ties
India and Finland today resolved to boost cooperation in a range of areas, including trade and investment, energy and information technology, during talks between External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj and her Finnish counterpart Timo Soini.
The two countries enjoy traditionally warm and friendly relations since diplomatic relations were established in 1949.

- Third Indo-UK joint military exercise next month
The third Indo-UK joint Army training exercise ‘Ajeya Warrior’ will be conducted in Rajasthan next month.
A training exercise between the armies of India and the United Kingdom will be held from 1st to 14th December at the Mahajan Field Firing Range. It will be the third joint military exercise between the two countries
The first exercise was conducted in 2013 at Belgaum, Karnataka, where as for the second exercise in 2015, an Indian Army contingent had visited the United Kingdom.

- China successfully launches remote sensing satellites
China has successfully launched remote sensing satellites designed to conduct electromagnetic probes and other experiments.
The satellites, whose number is not specified yet, were launched on a Long March-2C rocket from Xichang Satellite Launch Center in southwestern Sichuan province.

- Ritu Phogat wins silver at U-23 World Wrestling C’ship
Ritu Phogat has made India proud after bagging the silver medal in the U-23 Senior World Wrestling Championship at Poland.
Ritu, who competed in the 48kg category, defeated Bulgarian Wrestler Selishka by 4-2 points in the quarterfinal and then had better of Chinese Wrestler Jiang Zhu by 4-3 points in the semifinal.

- Barshim, Thiam, named athletes of the year
Qatari high jumper Mutaz Essa Barshim and Belgium’s heptathlon champion Nafissatou Thiam were named the IAAF’s men’s and women’s athlete of the year.
World champion Barshim succeeds retired Jamaican sprint legend Usain Bolt. He claimed the title from a shortlist comprising Britain’s long distance star Mo Farah and South Africa’s 400m champion Wayde Van Niekerk.
Thiam, who won hepatathlon gold at the Olympics and worlds in London, beat off competition from Ethiopia’s 10,000m Olympic champion Almaz Ayana and Greek polevault star Ekaterini Stefanidi.
- Director Peter Baldwin passes away
Emmy Award-winning director Peter Baldwin has died. He was 86. He won an Emmy in 1988 for the TV series “The Wonder Years”.
After serving the Navy for three years, Baldwin made a comeback through appearances in “The Tin Star” and “Teacher’s Pet” with Clark Gable and Doris Day.
