1. Children’s Day: 14th November

On 14th November, Children’s Day is celebrated every year to mark the birth anniversary of India’s first Prime Minister Pt. Jawaharlal Nehru. Children’s Day is popularly known as ‘Baal Diwas’ in India. The day aims at increasing the awareness of the rights, care and education of children. On this day, many educational and motivational programs are organised across the country, by and for children.

2. Ministry of Textiles launches “Local4Diwali” campaign

The Union Ministry of Textiles has launched a campaign for Diwali- “Local4Diwali”. 4. IFSCA approves draft banking regulations at IFSC

International Financial Services Centres Authority (IFSCA) has conducted a meeting in New Delhi. The IFSC Authority approved the International Financial Services Centres Authority (Banking) Regulations, 2020 in the meeting.

5. IRCTC to start ‘Bharat Darshan Yatra’ on December

Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation (IRCTC) will be starting ‘Bharat Darshan–Dakshin Bharat Yatra’ from December 12. The Bharat Darshan Yatra will start from Hyderabad and Secunderabad from December 12 to 18. The theme of this yatra will be ‘Show India to Indians’.

‘Boskiyana’, a new Hindi book on Gulzar, veteran Indian poet-lyricist has been published by Radhakrishna Prakashan. The book portrays the life of Gulzar through his films, poetry, philosophies, lifestyle, likes and dislikes. The 228- page book is edited and compiled by Yashwant Vyas. ‘Boskiyana’ is the name of the house of Gulzar in Mumbai.

World Day of Remembrance for Road Traffic Victims was started by RoadPeace in 1993. On 26 Oct 2005, the UN endorsed it as a global day to be observed every 3rd Sunday in Nov each year, making it a major advocacy day for road traffic injury prevention.

Lonar crater lake in Buldhana district, 500 kilometres (km) from Mumbai, has been declared Maharashtra’s second Ramsar site. Ramsar sites are wetlands of international importance under the Ramsar Convention (held for the first time in Ramsar, Iran, in 1971), which aims to halt the worldwide loss of wetlands.

12. Delhi Government launches Jeevan Seva App for transportation of COVID-19 patients

The Health Minister of Delhi, Satyendar Jain on November 12, 2020, launched the Jeevan Seva App for the safe and timely transportation of Corona patients to the healthcare facilities and hospitals. It has been launched in collaboration with EVERA Cab services.
