1. PM attends 50th Raising Day celebrations of CISF
The Prime Minister, Shri Narendra Modi, today, attended the 50th Raising Day celebrations of Central Industrial Security Forces (CISF), at Indirapuram in Ghaziabad, Uttar Pradesh.
The Prime Minister reviewed the parade of the CISF personnel. He presented the service medals for distinguished and meritorious services. He laid wreath at the Martyr’s Memorial and signed the visitor’s book.
2. NCRB to celebrate its 34th Inception Day
National Crime Records Bureau (NCRB) will celebrate its 34th Inception Day tomorrow on March 11, 2019 . Shri Rajiv Gauba, Union Home Secretary will be the Chief Guest and Shri Rajiv Jain, Director, IB will be the Guest of Honour on this occasion.
Prizes to the winners of NCRB Sports & other events will given alongwith Commendation Certificates to the various NCRB officers for their sincerity and dedication towards their work in the Bureau. Meritorious children of NCRB employees will also receive prizes, during the occasion.
A Cultural Program is being organised on this occasion, where NCRB Staff & their family members and a dance program from “Nritya Manjari” will enlighten the Guests with their performances.
Formed in 1986, NCRB is mandated to empower the Indian Police with Information Technology and is responsible for collecting, maintaining and analysing the crime data of the country. It facilitates Investigating Officers with updated IT tools and information in Investigation of Crimes.
3. Centre approves two corridors of Surat Metro project
The Centre has approved two corridors of the Surat Metro project to be executed at an estimated cost of around 12,000 crore rupees. The Housing and Urban Affairs Ministry said in a statement that the project will be implemented by the Gujarat Metro Rail Corporation and it will be completed in five years.
The length of the first corridor – Sarthana to Dream City line – will be 21.61 kilometers and the second – Bhesan to Saroli – will be 18.74 kilometres.The project will be financed mainly through equity from the Centre and state government on 50-50 basis.
4. Nagaland launches 1st round polio immunisation
Nagaland launched the first round of immunisation as part of the nationwide Pulse Polio programme. One-and-a-half lakh children of less than five years will be given polio drops to sustain polio eradication.
According to the Directorate of Health and Family Welfare, 2,274 polio booths have been set up to administer polio drops to children.
5. MP govt issues ordinance to give 27% quota to OBCs
In Madhya Pradesh, the state government has issued an ordinance raising reservation for Other Backward Classes (OBC) to 27 per cent from the present 14 per cent.
6. 2 Delhi metro stations renamed in honour of martyrs
Two stations on Delhi Metro’s red line extension have been renamed in honour of martyrs. Rajendra Nagar Metro Station has been renamed as Major Mohit Sharma Rajendra Nagar station and the New Bus Adda station has been renamed to Shaheed Sthal (New Bus Adda). This comes days after Pulwama attack where 40 CRPF jawans were martyred.
7. PM lays foundation stone of Buxar and Khurja Thermal Power Plants
Minister of Petroleum and Natural Gas & Skill Development and Entrepreneurship Shri Dharmendra Pradhan held a meeting with Minister of Energy, Industry and Mineral Resources of Saudi Arabia and Chairman of Saudi Aramco, H.E. Eng. Khalid A. Al-Falih in New Delhi .
Saudi Arabia is the second largest supplier of crude and LPG to India. In 2017-18, India’s crude oil imports from Saudi Arabia were 36.8 MMT, accounting for 16.7% of our total imports.
8. India Bags First Prize at The International ‘Golden City Gate Tourism Awards 2019’
The Ministry of Tourism, Government of India has won the First Prize in the category of TV Cinema Spot at the prestigious international Golden City Gate Tourism Awards 2019. The awards were received by Shri YogendraTripathi, Secretary,Tourism at ITB, Berlin being held from the 6th to 10th March 2019.
Following promotional films / television commercials produced by the Ministry as part of its Incredible India 2.0 Campaign received the awards:
- Yogi of the Racetrack
- The Reincarnation of Mr. and Mrs. Jones
- Sanctuary in Paris
- Maharani of Manhattan and
- The Masala Master Chef
The Golden City Gate Tourism Multi-media Awards are given annually in various categories related to the Tourism and Hospitality sectors. The ‘Golden City Gate’ is a creative multi-media international competition for countries, cities, regions and hotels. The entries received for the awards are judged by an international jury comprising film and tourism experts. The annual award ceremony takes place at ITB Berlin, the world’s leading tourism trade show.
9. IDBI Bank plans three-year extension for current CEO Rakesh Sharma
IDBI Bank on Sunday said it is considering to appoint Rakesh Sharma, the current chief of the bank, as its managing director and chief executive officer for a further period of three years. Sharma’s six-month term at IDBI Bank was set to end in April.
