1. Verstappen Triumphs at Spanish Grand Prix 2024

Max Verstappen won the Spanish Grand Prix on Sunday, showing off his impressive skill and plan. This made his lead in the Formula 1 drivers championship even stronger.

Even though he started in second place on the grid, Verstappen showed how great he is at racing:

Lando Norris, who was in first place, was passed by the first turn.

On the third lap, I passed George Russell.

Held on to the lead for all 66 laps

Verstappen’s quick moves at the start of the race were the deciding factor. The winner thought, “I think what made the difference in the race was the start.” “I was in charge and had a safety net. After that, we had to drive a safe course.

2. Manoj Jain Appointed as Chairman and Managing Director of Bharat Electronics Limited

A major Indian defense electronics company, Bharat Electronics Limited (BEL), has announced that its top leadership will be changing in a big way. As of now, Manoj Jain is the new Chairman and Managing Director of the business.

Over thirty years of work at BEL show how dedicated and knowledgeable Manoj Jain is in the area of Research and Development. Along his time with the company, he has:

Starting as a trainee engineer in August 1991

From September 26, 2022, he will be Director (R&D).

From August 1, 2023, he will be Director (Bangalore Complex).

Director of Human Resources from November 1, 2022, to May 31, 2023

Before, he was in charge of the Electronic Warfare and Avionics SBU at BEL’s Bangalore Complex.

3. Government Appoints Atul Kumar Chaudhary as Secretary of Telecom Regulatory Authority of India

The government hired Atul Kumar Chaudhary on June 20 as the new Secretary of the Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI). V. Raghunandan retired on May 31 and left the post open.

About Atul Kumar Chaudhary

He graduated from IIT-Rookkee and then went on to get his Master’s in Public Policy and Administration from IIPA Delhi.

He has held different jobs in the Department of Telecommunications (DoT) and BSNL’s Personnel, HR, Administration, Licencing, and Vigilance wings.

He used to work at the DoT as a DDG. As of now, Chaudhary is the Deputy Director General (DDG) at the Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI).

He is an Indian Telecom Service (ITS) officer from the 1989 group. He is on assignment for foreign service, which will last for two years at first.

4. Karnataka Vikas Grameena Bank Gets National Award for APY Implementation

The Pension Fund Regulatory and Development Authority (PFRDA) gave Karnataka Vikas Grameena Bank (KVGB), a regional rural bank backed by Canara Bank, a national award for a lot of people signing up for the Atal Pension Yojana (APY).

Who was given this award?

The award was given to Shreekant M. Bhandiwad, Chairman of KVGB, on June 21 in New Delhi by Vivek Joshi, Secretary, of Department of Financial Services, Government of India, and Deepak Mohanty, Chairman of PFRDA.

APY gives workers in the private sector a safety net by guaranteeing a pension after 60 years.

5. International Day of Women in Diplomacy 2024 Observed on 24th June

Every year on June 24, the International Day of Women in Diplomacy honors the important role women play in creating international relations and promoting peace.

Women have been involved in negotiations for hundreds of years, but their work is often forgotten. In 1945, women were very important in writing and signing the United Nations Charter. But growth has been slow:

Out of the 77 years that the UN has been around, only four women have been chosen as President.

From 1992 to 2019, only 13% of negotiators, 6% of mediators, and 6% of participants in global peace processes were women.

6. International Olympic Day 2024 – June 23

International Olympic Day is held every year on June 23. In 1894, it was the first meeting of the International Olympic Committee (IOC).

Today is a celebration of the Olympic spirit and a time to get people interested in sports.

The theme for International Olympic Day 2024 is “Let’s Move and Celebrate.”

7. World Rainforest Day 2024 – June 22

World Rainforest Day is held every year on June 22. Its goal is to make people more aware of how important jungles are and to promote their protection and preservation.

The first time the day was held was in 2017 by the Rainforest Partnership.

The theme for World Rainforest Day 2024 is “Empowering the World in Defense of Our Rainforests.”

8. World Hydrography Day – June 21

World Hydrography Day is held every year on June 21.

The International Hydrographic Organization (IHO) has set up this important day to bring more attention to hydrography and its important part in helping us understand our oceans and seas.

The theme for World Hydrography Day 2024 is:

“Hydrographic Information – Enhancing Safety, Efficiency and Sustainability in Marine Activities“.

This theme reflects the ongoing changes in navigation, including e-navigation, autonomous shipping, and efforts to reduce emissions.

9. India becomes the world’s third-largest domestic airline market

With a domestic capacity of 1.55 crore airline seats, India has surpassed Brazil to become the world’s third-largest domestic airline market. This month, India’s domestic airline capacity increased by 11.2%.

IndiGo, a low-cost carrier, has been the driving force behind this rise, tripling its market share to 62% since 2014. The route between Mumbai and Delhi is currently the ninth busiest route in the world.

With a mere 80 lakh domestic seats, India had the lowest market in the world in 2014.
