1. Ehsan Mani has been appointed as the head of ICCs influential Finance and Commercial Affairs committee

Pakistan Cricket Board’s chairman Ehsan Mani has been appointed as the head of the International Cricket Council’s (ICC) influential Finance & Commercial Affairs committee (F&CA). The decision regarding the appointment was announced during the International Cricket Council’s annual conference. The F&CA is one of the ICC’s most important committees, in relation to all financial and commercial matters.

2. Kiren Rijiju Committee: Strategise Preparations for 2020, 2024 Olympics

High-Level Committee has been constituted under chairmanship Union Minister of Sports Kiren Rijiju to coordinate and strategise preparation for 2020 and 2024 Olympics. Main focus of HLC would be to ensure maximum participation and medals from Indian athletes in Tokyo Olympics 2020.

3. Haryana invites Nepal to be partner country for Gita Jayanti Mahotsav

Chief Minister of Haryana Manohar Lal Khattar has invited Nepal to be Partner Country for International Gita Jayanti Mahotsav scheduled to be held at Kurukshetra from 3-8 December 2019. He extended inviation to Ambassador of Nepal to India Nilamber Acharya.

4. TIFF 2019: Meryl Streep wins Tribute Actor award

Veteran actor Meryl Streep will be honoured with Tribute Actor award at 2019 Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF). She will receive award in person on 9 September 2019 during TIFF’s Tribute Gala, a festival fundraiser. She will be 1st-ever recipient of TIFF Tribute Actor Award.

5. B S Yeddyurappa sworn in as Chief Minister of Karnataka

State BJP President B.S. Yediyurappa (76) took oath as 31st Chief Minister of Karnataka by Governor Vajubhai Vala. His appointment comes 3 days after collapse of Congress-JD(S) government. He is set to take floor test on 31 July 2019 to prove his majority. This is for 4th time Yediyurappa’s is being sworn as Chief Minister however he has never completed full term as CM.

6. Jordan: Underwater Museum Of Military Vehicles unveiled

Jordan has unveiled its 1st Underwater Military Museum on the bed of Red Sea off the coast of Aqaba. As part new underwater military museum the kingdom submerged several military vehicles, including tanks, troop carriers and even a decommissioned Jordanian Armed Forces’ AH-1 Cobra helicopter into the waters of the Red Sea. Before the vehicles were submerged, all hazardous materials were removed from them.

7. Australia captain smashes the highest ever score in a women’s T20I

Australia Women captain Meg Lanning smashed an unbeaten 133 off 63 balls, including seven sixes and 17 fours, against England Women in first T20I, breaking the record for the highest individual score in a women’s T20I. The previous record was jointly held by Lanning and Netherlands Women’s Sterre Kalis, who had scored 126 and 126* in 2014 and 2019 respectively.

8. 21-yr-old UP girl Vidisha becomes 1st Indian to win Miss Deaf World

Vidisha Baliyan, a 21-year-old girl from Uttar Pradesh, has been crowned Miss Deaf World 2019, the first Indian to bag the title. The international beauty pageant was held in Mbombela, South Africa, and Vidisha was chosen among the 11 finalists from 16 participating countries in the final round. She’s a former international tennis player who represented India in the Deaflympics.

9. Global Ayurveda Summit at Kochi

The Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) is organising the third edition of Global Ayurveda Summit 2019 on October 30 and 31 at Kochi. While the main theme will be ‘Mainstreaming Ayurveda Startups, Innovation and Branding,’ the event will feature an international conference, expo, start-up contest, and a focussed B2B meeting platform. Over 500 industry leaders and experts from India and abroad are expected to participate.

10. Cristiano Ronaldo tops Instagram Sports Rich List, scoring almost $1 million per post

Soccer star Cristiano Ronaldo has topped an Instagram Sports Rich List for 2019, after it was revealed he received $975,000 per post to endorse products from companies on the social media platform.

According to social media specialists Hopper HQ, Ronaldo not only comes out on top of soccer rivals including Barcelona and Argentina forward Lionel Messi, but he’s also out in front of big names from American sports including LeBron James.

11.Tunisia pays final homage to President Beji Caid Essebsi

The funeral for President Beji Caid Essebsi – Tunisia’s first democratically leader – was under way, with several foreign leaders including France’s Emmanuel Macron in attendance. Essebsi will be buried at a family plot in central Tunis.

Among those in attendance at his funeral were Palestinian Authority leader Mahmoud Abbas, Algeria’s interim President Abdelkader Bensalah and the secretary general of the Arab League, Ahmed Aboul Gheit.
