1. Uttar Pradesh State government has started DASTAK campaign against communicative diseases Acute Encephalitis Syndrome
Uttar Pradesh State government has started DASTAK campaign against communicative diseases Acute Encephalitis Syndrome (AES) and Japanese Encephalitis (JE) disease on 1 July in the State. DASTAK campaign will run from 1st to 31st July. This campaign is part of the State’s comprehensive Social and Behaviour Change Communication (SBCC) strategy. The vector-borne disease sensitive states have been marked.
2. India to contribute USD 5 Millions in 2019 to UN Palestine refugee agency
India to contribute USD 5 Millions in 2019 to UN Palestine refugee agency. India pledged USD 5 million in 2019 to the UN Palestine refugee agency. The agency’s difficult financial situation due to voluntary contributions from a limited donor base and called for ensuring sustained fiscal support for its work.
India’s Deputy Permanent Representative to the UN Ambassador K Nagaraj Naidu the government increased its annual financial contribution four fold to the UNRWA core budget from USD 1.25 million in 2016 to USD 5 million in 2018.
3. WBC Asia: Indian Pro Boxer Vaibhav Yadav wins
Indian pro boxer Vaibhav Yadav became World Boxing Council (WBC) Asia silver Welterweight Champion after winning the title bout held in Pattaya, Thailand. Highlights He won the title after defeating Fahpetch Singmanassak of Thailand. Vaibhav clinched a 3rd-round knockout win over Singmanassak.
4. Garuda-VI: Indo-French Joint Air Exercise begins
Indian Air Force (IAF) and Armée de l’Air (French Air Force) are participating in Garuda VI, a bilateral air exercise at Mont de Marsan in France. The last edition of joint exercise between IAF-FAF was held in June 2014 at Air Force Station Jodhpur, Rajasthan. This year is the 6th edition of exercise which is taking place from 1 July to 12 July 2019.
5. Nagaland declared ‘Disturbed Area’ under AFSPA for 6 more months
Centre has declared entire State of Nagaland a ‘disturbed area’ for a period of 6 more months under Armed Forces (Special Powers) Act (AFSPA) with effect from 30 June 2019. The central government opinion was notified by Union Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA).
6.Tamil yeoman: now Tamil Nadu’s State Butterfly
Butterfly species Tamil yeoman (Cirrochroa thais) has been officially declared as state butterfly of Tamil Nadu. The southern State formally notified this by an order on lines of the State Tree (Palm), Bird (Emerald Dove), Flower (Gloriosa) and Animal (Nilgiri Tahr).

Scientific Name: Cirrochroa thais
It is also known as Tamizh Maravan (which means warrior).
7. Donald Trump becomes 1st sitting US president to enter North Korea
United States President Donald Trump became 1st sitting US president to set foot in Democratic People’s Republic of Korea (or North Korea) when he met its leader, Kim Jong Un, in Demilitarised Zone (DMZ) between North Korea and South Korea.
8. National Film Heritage Mission Project reviewed by I&B Minister
Union Minister of Information and Broadcasting Prakash Javadekar reviewed Ministry’s prestigious project of National Film Heritage Mission (NFHM) and various activities undertaken under the project in a meeting held at National Film Archives of India (NFAI) in Pune, Maharashtra.
9. Rohit Sharma becomes leading run-getter in 2019 World Cup
Indian opener Rohit Sharma on Tuesday surpassed David Warner (currently 516) to become the leading run-getter in the ongoing World Cup after scoring his fourth hundred of the tournament.
With his 26th ODI hundred, that came against Bangladesh, Rohit equalled Kumar Sangakkara’s record of scoring most tons in a World Cup edition.
10. Cori Gauff becomes the youngest player to win a match at the premier tournament.
Biggest upset in history of tournament, 15 year old Cori Gauff beats five time champion Venus Williams in first round, becomes the youngest player to win a match at the premier tournament. Five-time Wimbledon champion Venus Williams was stunned by the 15-year-old Cori Gauff in the first round at Court 1 of the All England Club on Monday.
It was a match-up between the oldest and the youngest in the draw and the younger one came out on top. Gauff beat Venus 6-4, 6-4 in quick-fire fashion as the spectators took notice of the youngster’s talent.
