1. Reliance Industries becomes first Indian stock to cross Rs 20 lakh crore market cap

With a roughly 2% increase in Tuesday’s trade, oil-to-telecom giant Reliance Industries Ltd (RIL) became the first listed firm in history to surpass the Rs 20 lakh crore market capitalization milestone.

With a value of Rs 19,93,881.61 crore, the Mukesh Ambani-led corporation crossed the 20 lakh crore milestone during the session.

On the BSE, RIL shares rose 1.88 percent, reaching a peak of Rs 2,957.80. After being rebranded as Jio Financial Services Ltd (JFS), Reliance Industries’ financial services division recently underwent a demerger.

As per the most recent tally, the demerged entity’s market capitalization was Rs 1,70,331.55 crore, and it is traded on stock exchanges.

With the latest investment in RIL m-cap, the cornerstone of the Reliance business, Mukesh Ambani’s fortunes soared to $109 billion, an increase of $12.5 billion in 2024 alone.
