1. Annual summit between Modi and Shinzo Abe to be held on 15-17 December
The annual summit between Prime Minister Narendra Modi and his Japanese counterpart Shinzo Abe is to take place between 15-17 December 2019. The announcement was made by the External Affairs Ministry. The summit is expected to take place in Guwahati, Assam.
2. India and US to a defence technology sharing pact at 2 plus 2 dialogue
India and the US are planning to sing a defence technology-sharing pact. The two countries will sign a deal at the 2+2 dialogue on 19 December in Washington, the US. The Indian side will be led by defence minister Rajnath Singh and external affairs minister S Jaishankar to the dialogue.
3. TCS introduces new insurance benefits that include the LGBT employees
Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) has announced changes in its health insurance policy in order to provide benefits to employees involved in LGBT employees, a same-sex relationship. TCS became the first Tata Group companies to bring the change.
4. Girish Chandra Chaturvedi appointed new of Chairman National Stock Exchange
The National Stock Exchange(NSE) has appointed Girish Chandra Chaturvedi as its new chairman. His appointment comes following the approval of markets regulator Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI).
The NSE chairman was lying vacant since January 2019 when then incumbent Chairman of NSE Ashok Chawla resigned in the middle of charges of corruption in Aircel-Maxis case. The Aircel-Maxis is a case of alleged corruption in grant of Foreign Investment and Promotion Board (FIPB) clearance in Aircel-Maxis deal.
5. Assam govt. sets up Anti Depredation Squads to avoid human-wildlife conflicts
The state government of Assam has set up 15 Anti-Depredation Squads of Forest department to deal with human-wildlife conflicts in state. The squads would help Forest Department to reduce casualties in conflict situations.
6. Human Library event in Mysuru on December 8
A human library, a concept which seeks to replace books with humans, will be organised in Mysuru on December 8.
The first event of Human Library, Mysuru Chapter 2, will be held at Mysore Institute of Commerce and Arts (MICA), 123-127, near GRS Fantasy Park at Metagalli in Mysuru from 9.30 a.m. to 12.30 p.m. on December 8, said a note from Pavithra K., founder of Human Library, Mysuru Chapter.

9. Indian junior women’s team wins 3-nation hockey tournament
The Indian junior women’s team won the three-nation hockey tournament even though they lost to Australia 1-2 in the final game at Canberra. The Indian eves finished top on the point table, with seven points from four matches. They were ahead of the hosts, Australia on goal difference. New Zealand finished third, with only three points from their four matches.
10. Friends actor Ron Leibman dies at the age of 82
Award-winning American actor Ron Leibman, famed for playing Rachel Green’s overbearing dad in the sitcom Friends, has died at the age of 82. His agent said the cause was pneumonia. While best known for his role in the US sitcom, Leibman had a decorated career in TV and film spanning six decades.
11. Bob Willis: Former England Cricket Captain dies aged 70
Bob Willis was the former England captain and a fast bowler. He died of thyroid cancer on December 04, 2019 after a short illness. Willis will be always remembered for his superb performance in the 1981 Ashes Series.
England won the series with a 2–0 score from Australia. He is most remembered for his performance on the grounds of Headingley. His sharp bowling brought England a resounding victory in the 1981 Ashes Series at this ground.
