1. India ranks second in terms of crypto adoption in the world
India has ranked second in terms of crypto adoption worldwide behind Vietnam, but ahead of countries such as the US, UK, and China, according to the 2021 Global Crypto Adoption Index by blockchain data platform Chainalysis. This comes even as worldwide crypto adoption grew by 880% between June 2020 and July 2021, according to the report. So, for those who are looking into new cryptocurrency to invest in 2022 for the upcoming year, they’ll need to get their crypto research up to date.
2. Amazon Alexa Gets Amitabh Bachchan’s Voice in India
Amazon has launched the voice of the 78-year-old Bollywood star Amitabh Bachchan as a part of its efforts to amuse existing users and attract new consumers to use its voice assistant over Google Assistant and Apple’s Siri. With the new launch, the US tech giant has also brought its celebrity voice feature to India. The feature initially arrived in the US with the voice of American actor and producer Samuel L. Jackson in 2019.
3. Akshay Urja Diwas 2021: 20 August
Akshay Urja Diwas (Renewable Energy Day) is observed every year on 20 August to raise awareness about the developments and adoption of renewable energy in India. The Akshay Urja Day was initiated by the Indian Ministry for New & Renewable Energy Sources in 2004.
4. World Mosquito Day observed on 20th August
World Mosquito Day is observed on 20 August annually to raise awareness about the causes of malaria and how it can be prevented. This day is observed to highlight the efforts of healthcare officials, NGOs, and others in fighting diseases caused by malaria. On World Mosquito Day every year, awareness is created around diseases caused by mosquitoes.
This year amid the coronavirus pandemic, the theme of World Mosquito Day 2021 is “Reaching the zero-malaria target”.
5. Sadbhavana Diwas: 20 August
Every year India observes Sadbhavana Diwas on August 20 to commemorate the birth anniversary of late erstwhile Prime Minister, Rajiv Gandhi. This year on 20th August 2021, we are going to celebrate the 77th birth anniversary of former Prime Minister Rajiv Gandhi. The Indian National Congress instituted Rajiv Gandhi Sadbhavana Award in 1992, a year after his death.
6. Diksha Shinde, 14-yr-old Indian selected as panelist on NASA’s MSI Fellowships Virtual Panel
A 14-year-old Indian girl from Maharashtra’s Aurangabad, Diksha Shinde has been selected as a panelist on NASA’s MSI Fellowships Virtual Panel. The panel meetings were held from July 12-16, 2021.
Diksha Shinde said that she wrote a theory that was accepted by NASA after 3 attempts. Then she was asked to write articles for NASA’s website. She is a class 10 student.
7. Sanskrit Week: being celebrated from August 19 to 25
Sanskrit Week is being celebrated from August 19 to August 25, 2021. Sanskrit Week is celebrated to promote and popularise this ancient language. On the beginning of this event, Prime Minister Narendra Modi urged everyone to learn and promote Sanskrit language.
