1. IIT Indore Develops E-Shoes for Live Location Tracking

IIT Indore has developed high-tech shoes that use a special Tribo-Electric Nanogenerator (TENG) to generate electricity from walking. These shoes also have GPS to track location in real-time. The shoes have been given to the Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO) to help improve the safety and efficiency of armed forces personnel. They can also be used in other fields.

The shoes use TENG technology to turn the energy from walking into electricity. This electricity is stored in the sole of the shoe and can power small devices. The shoes also have GPS and RFID for accurate real-time location tracking.

Applications and Benefits

Military: The shoes help soldiers stay safe and coordinated by providing real-time location information and power for important devices.
Sports: They can be used to analyze athletes’ movements, which might help improve performance.
Other Uses: These shoes can also help track the location of seniors with Alzheimer’s, monitor school children, and manage factory worker attendance.
