Bharat Dynamics Ltd (BDL), an unit under the Ministry of Defence, has signed a memorandum of understanding with Electronics Corporation of India Ltd (ECIL), under the Department of Atomic Energy, to work together.
The tie-up will enable both the organisations to tap business opportunities in the area of missiles and underwater weapon systems for upcoming defence programmes. The MoU was inked between V Udaya Bhaskar, Chairman and Managing Director, BDL, and P Sudhakar, Chairman and Managing Director, ECIL.
Bharat Dynamics Ltd
- Bharat Dynamics Limited is one of India’s manufacturer of ammunitions and missile systems. It was founded in 1970 in Hyderabad, Andhra Pradesh.
- BDL is the nodal agency for the production of Missiles developed by India.
- BDL has been consistently incurring profits and has been nominated as a Mini Ratna – Category-I Company by the Government of India.
Electronics Corporation of India Ltd
- The ECIL was established in 1967 by Dr. A. S. Rao at Hyderabad, to create a strong indigenous base in electronics.
- ECIL is a multi-product, multi disciplinary organisation with focus on indigenous Nuclear energy, space and Defence sectors.
- ECIL is credited with producing the first indigenous digital computer’s TDC 312 and TDC 316, solid state TV, control and instrumentation for nuclear power plants.
