Recognition and a ceremony

At the award event in Hyderabad, well-known people in the aviation industry came together. There were many types of awards, including ones for outstanding work in managing traffic, coming up with new ideas, being environmentally friendly, and more.

The “25 MPPA Traffic Award” in the Airports category was given to Bengaluru’s Kempegowda International Airport because it handles more than 25 million people every year.

Things that make Kempegowda International Airport unique

Kempegowda International Airport has done a lot to improve the experience of its customers. Some of the most important changes are more entry gates, check-in counters, and informational boards.

International activities at the airport were moved from Terminal 1 to Terminal 2 to make room for the 25 million people who visit every year. Also, the immigration and emigration desks have been made bigger to cut down on wait times.

Concern for the Environment

The airport has taken action to meet its environmental obligations and has now achieved Level 4+ Transition status under the Airport Carbon Accreditation (ACA) program, which is known all over the world.

Getting to a net-neutral energy state, banning single-use plastics, and regenerating more water than is used are all ways to reduce the damage to the environment.

There is no other airport terminal in the world that has both a Platinum LEED grade and an IGBC Green New Building Platinum certification.

Improvements in technology

Digi Yatra face recognition, the BLR Pulse app, and self-baggage drop systems are some of the high-tech features that Kempegowda International Airport uses to make things easier for passengers.

It also uses an Automated Tray Retrieval System to make checking bags faster.
