August 9 : International Day of the World’s Indigenous People

The International Day of the World’s Indigenous People is observed on August 9 every year. The main objective is to highlight and address the problems faced by indigenous peoples regarding human rights, environment, education and health. The day also recognizes the achievements and contributions that indigenous people make to improve world issues such as environmental protection.
