Andhra Pradesh to host 2019 National Games

2019 National Games – Sports Authority of Andhra Pradesh (SAAP) Chairman PR Mohan has announced that the National Games in 2019 would be held in Andhra Pradesh. The Indian Olympic Association, at its meeting held in Guwahati, agreed to the proposal to host the Games made by the SAAP Chairman, Andhra Pradesh Olympic Association General Secretary Purushotham and other sports officials from the State.

The IOA delegates agreed to the proposal as they have immense faith in the leadership of Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu. The delegates at the meeting recalled the Afro-Asian Games conducted in undivided Andhra Pradesh during Naidu’s earlier tenure as Chief Minister.

Badminton Association of India secretary (events) K.Ch. Punnaiah Chowdary said that the new State will be put in the right direction as the National Games will help all the 13 districts get some quality sporting facilities.
