Andhra Pradesh government has signed an MoU with the Tata Institute of Social Sciences (TISS) to increase employability of students in the state. The MoU was signed in the presence of Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu in Visakhapatnam. The MoU envisages implementation of programme activities of state government’s flagship initiative of Andhra Pradesh University Students Employability Skill Development Programme.
The MoU involves strategic partnerships with civil society organisations, public sector bodies, private sector institutions and social entrepreneurship organisations, etc., to complement the efforts of the AP State Knowledge Mission. The MoU seeks collaboration with industries and higher institutes for implementing the flagship programme.
The MoU envisages implementation of programme activities of ‘Andhra Pradesh University Students Employability Skill Development Programme,’ a flagship initiative of the state government.
- Tata Institute of Social Sciences (TISS) is a social sciences institute with its main campus based in Mumbai, India.
- TISS was established in 1936, as the Dorabji Tata Graduate School of Social Work, the first school of social work in India. It was renamed to its current name in 1944.
- The Tata Institute of Social Sciences has been designated for the implementation of National University Student Skill Development Programme (NUSSD)
