Direct-selling FMCG firm Amway India has announced Bollywood actor Farhan Akhtar as its brand ambassador to promote Nutrilite range of the products. The announcement was made by Amway India CEO Anshu Budhraja. He said studies in India indicate that nine out of 10 Indians consume less than adequate protein daily. The fact is a majority of people are not consuming the World Health Organization’s minimum recommendation of five servings (400 grams) per day of fruits and vegetables, thus missing out on important nutritional benefits.
Nutrilite is a leading brand of vitamins and dietary supplements. Amway India plans to launch a big campaign in early 2016 to leverage the association of Akhtar with Nutrilite. On his association with Amway, Akhtar said, “I strongly believe that it is important to take care of one’s daily nutritional needs for a healthy and long life. People should understand the virtues of being fit, healthy and eating right.”
