AB de Villiers named brand ambassador of MRF

South African batsman AB de Villiers has been roped in as the brand ambassador of tyre manufacturing giants MRF Limited. MRF’s Chairman and Managing Director KM Mammen formally handed over the agreement to the cricketer. As per company norms, this association is for a period of three years and De Villiers will endorse the company’s products and services through advertising campaigns and other such promotional programmes during the term of the agreement. De Villiers and his South African team-mates are currently in India playing a 5-match ODI series. It will be followed by 4 Tests.

  • AB de Villiers is a South African cricketer, who captains the South African One Day International (ODI) team, having succeeded Graeme Smith after the 2011 Cricket World Cup.
  • He has records of fastest 50 (16 balls), 100 (31 balls) and 150 (64 balls) in One Day Internationals by any batsmen in history, the fastest hundred by a South African in Tests and the fastest 50 by South African in T20s.
  • He is a talented sportsman and has excelled in golf, rugby, badminton, swimming, cricket and tennis.
  • On 18 January 2015, de Villiers scored the fastest century by a batsman in One Day International cricket, off 31 balls and eventually scoring 149 runs off 44 balls in 59 minutes. He made this record against West Indies.
  • Under the captaincy of de Villiers, South Africa qualified for the semi-finals of the World Cup 2015, but lost to New Zealand in the match.
