1. $95 Million Undersea Cable Connection Project in Micronesia
Japan, the United States, and Australia have recently announced their joint venture in signing a significant undersea cable project.
This initiative aims to improve network connectivity in the Indo-Pacific region, while also countering China’s expanding influence.
Connecting Nations and Enhancing Connectivity
The undersea cable will span approximately 2,250 kilometers, linking the state of Kosrae in the Federated State of Micronesia, Tarawa in Kiribati, and Nauru to the existing cable landing point situated in Pohnpei, Micronesia.
This ambitious undertaking will enable enhanced connectivity among these East Micronesia island nations, fostering socio-economic growth and development.
2. Kerala started its own internet service
Kerala has become the first state in the country to launch its own internet service. Kerala Chief Minister P. Vijayan launched the Kerala Fiber Optic Network in the state, in which users will get 1 Gbps speed.
On this occasion, he said that through this 20 lakh families will get free internet connection. The Government of Kerala has launched a new service named Kerala Fiber Optic Network (K-FON).

4. Renowned theater actor and director Aamir Raza Hussain passes away
Aamir Raza Husain, a renowned theater actor and director famous for his grand open-air stage productions like “The Fifty Day War,” inspired by the Kargil War, and “The Legend of Ram,” has passed away at the age of 66.
He was also the Creative Director of Stagedoor Theatre company, established in 1974, which has presented over 91 productions and more than 1,100 performances. Husain’s remarkable contributions to the stage include unforgettable plays such as ‘The Fifty Day War’ (2000) and ‘The Legend of Ram.’
5. India Conducts Asia’s First Demonstration of Performance-Based Navigation for Helicopters
India recently achieved a significant milestone in the field of aviation as it conducted Asia’s first demonstration of performance-based navigation for helicopters.
The successful flight from Juhu to Pune showcased the utilization of GAGAN satellite technology, a joint development by the Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) and the Airports Authority of India (AAI).
This groundbreaking achievement highlights India’s innovation and expertise in the aviation sector.
6. Tata Group Signs $1.6 Billion EV Battery Plant Deal in Gujarat
India’s Tata Group, a leading multinational conglomerate, has entered into an outline deal to construct a lithium-ion cell factory in Gujarat, India.
With an investment of approximately 130 billion rupees ($1.58 billion), the plant aims to bolster the country’s electric vehicle (EV) supply chain and reduce its dependence on battery imports.
The initiative aligns with India’s goal of achieving 100% electric vehicle adoption and curbing carbon emissions by 50% by 2030.
7. India has emerged as the 2nd Largest Producer of Crude Steel in the world: Union Minister of Steel & Civil Aviation Shri Jyotiraditya M. Scindia
The Minister started his address by highlighting the importance of Steel sector in ensuring the pragati (growth) and vikas (development) of the country.
“India currently ranks as the World’s 2nd Largest Producer of Crude Steel, surpassing Japan in 2018”, the minister said, while mentioning the remarkable growth recorded by India’s steel industry.
