DHL Express appoints new Asia Pacific CEO

Global logistics provider DHL Express has named a new Chief Executive Officer for Asia Pacific region that includes India. Ken Lee, who has an experience of over 20 years in the logistics industry, including 18 years at DHL will succeed Jerry Hsu, who is retiring after an illustrious career with DHL Express since 2001. Lee will be responsible for a region that includes India, Hong Kong, Japan, Korea, Oceania, South Asia, South East Asia and Taiwan.

Lee’s focus will be on driving further operational efficiencies and service innovations, particularly through greater investment in training and technology, to consolidate DHL’s market leadership throughout the region.

  • Deutsche Post is the world’s largest logistics company operating around the world, particularly in sea and air mail.
  • The company was primarily interested in offshore and inter-continental deliveries, but the success of FedEx prompted their own intra-US expansion starting in 1983.
  • Originally founded in 1969 to deliver documents between San Francisco and Honolulu, the company expanded its service throughout the world by the late 1970s.
