Thaawar Chand Gehlot, Union Ministry for Social Justice & Empowerment, has launched the Credit Enhancement Guarantee Scheme for Scheduled Castes (SCs). The scheme will be properly implemented by Industrial Finance Corporation of India (IFCI) Ltd. The minister said that a sum of Rs.200 crores has been allocated towards Credit Enhancement Guarantee for young and start-up entrepreneurs, belonging to Scheduled Castes. The allocation is under Social Sector Initiatives in order to promote entrepreneurship among the scheduled castes and to facilitate concessional finance.
The Minister has also inaugurated Commercial Motor Driving Training Programme with Self Defense Skills for Women. The training program is organized by National Safai Karamcharis Finance & Development Corporation. The training will be given to 250 women. The Self Defense Skills will give self confidence to the women drivers. The women passengers will also feel safe while travelling at odd hours.
