The 44th edition of the annual New DelhiWorld Book Fair(NDWBF) will be held from January 7-15 2017 at Pragati Maidan National Book Trust (NBT) has announced.
• The nine-day fair, touted as the largest international fair in the Afro-Asian region, will host 1500 participants from across India, including over 50 foreign exhibitors.
• “More than 2500 stalls will showcase books and reading material in Hindi, English, and other Indian languages for all age-groups, on a wide range of subjects and genre,” NBT stated in the announcement.
• The fair next year will also seek to showcase and promote the rich Indian heritage through music and dance performances.
• “There will also be cultural programmes showcasing the folk and classical heritage of India,”.
• Like its previous editions, the fair will have a theme and children’s pavilion, foreign pavilion, live FM radio corner, authors’ corners, as well as international events corner to enhance the experience for visitors.
• Various literary programmes, including seminars, panel discussions, book release functions, meet-the-author sessions, book releases, as well as interactive events and activities for children and youth will be lined up at the fair.
• The fair which is being organised by NBT since 1972, will be spread across a sprawling area of 38,000 square metres.
