10th World Hindi Conference to be organized Bhopal

World Hindi Conference is a world conference on Hindi language. The conference will attract several Hindi scholars, writers and laureates from different parts of the world.

The 10th World Hindi Conference (WHC) is being organized from 10-12 September 2015 in the city of Bhopal by the Ministry of External Affairs, Government of India in partnership with the Government of Madhya Pradesh. The decision to organize the 10th edition of the Conference in India was taken at the 9th World Hindi Conference held in Johannesburg, South Africa in September 2012.

  • By way of background, the first World Hindi Conference was held in 1975 in Nagpur, India. Since then, nine such Conferences have been held all over the globe.
  • Ministry of External Affairs is the nodal Ministry for the 10th World Hindi Conference. The partner State is Madhya Pradesh.
  • In order to deliberate on various aspects relating to the Conference, three key Committees– Advisory, Management and Programme have been constituted. Smt. Sushma Swaraj, Hon’ble Minister for External Affairs is the Chairperson of the Advisory and Programme Committees while Gen. (Retd) Dr. V. K. Singh, Hon’ble Minister of State for External Affairs is the Chairman of the Management Committee
